  2. Thomas-Conrad  ARCnet adapters, when set to the enhanced mode of operation, 
  3. operate exclusivly with Thomas-Conrad drivers.  When set to the compatible 
  4. mode, Thomas-Conrad ARCnet adapters will work with most ARCnet drivers from 
  5. other manufacturers.  The main difference is enhanced mode drivers require 
  6. no I/O port address.
